g19 | Felix gets a wee bit of support

Mariners 9 | Tigers 1

Well, it would have been nice if the bats could have found just a bit of this recent offensive production back at home but, I guess we’ll take it when we get it and hope it sets them on a roll.

Felix and Jesus!
This was the first time Jesus caught Felix in a regular season game.  Things were a bit shaky in the first inning when Felix walked THREE (a rare occurrence over the course of a game for Felix, unheard of in ONE inning). But, one of the reasons Felix is one of the elite pitchers in baseball is for his ability to push through adversity – and, he did just that. Over the next SIX innings, Felix only gave up ONE run (a solo shot in the 3rd) and THREE singles and NO more walks. Jesus did have a passed ball but, it was in that crazy first inning, so we’ll give him a mulligan (besides – Felix isn’t exactly a breeze to catch!)
