The M’s would have won going away … SIXTEEN to NINE 🙂
I was only able to watch / listen to a couple of innings here and there . . .
ON THE MOUND
the “new guy” ~ Aaron Harang ~ threw a lot of pitches (95) for FIVE innings but then, he struck out SIX, so there’s that. And, considering the potent Tigger lineup, THREE runs and ZERO walks is not too bad.
Charlie did his part out of the pen . .
scoreless inning+ ~ ONE hit ~ ZERO walks THREE strikeouts
Then things really went downhill from there . . .
Blake, Bobby and Yoervis (big league debut) combined to give up FOUR hits ~ THREE runs ~ THREE walks (two of the bases loaded variety). Yoervis didn’t exactly have a soft landing for his major league debut ~ bases loaded and he walks the first batter he faces but, he recovers nicely by striking out Cabrera for the third out of the 8th and then K’s TWO more in the 9th (Peralta and Fielder). Not too shabby.
AT THE PLATE
The good news . . .
Guti and Morse both back in the lineup
The bad news . . .
Guti was one of FIVE M’s batters who went o’fer
The good news . . .
Seager and Morales with back-to-back doubles, Morse with an RBI single = nice RISP hits
The bad news . . .
there was only ONE other hit (single by Smoak)
IN THE FIELD
* Apparently, Michael made a nice running catch in the right field and Kyle some nice picks at 3B
* No DP’s 😦
