The Mariners have victories on 8 of the last 9 Mother’s Days (8-11 at home this season) and, today, they earn the series win (their 4th vs 5 series losses and 3 series ties)

ON THE MOUND
Safeco Joe makes it look easy in the 1st and then shows how/why he earned his moniker in the 2nd (back-to-back doubles and a single netted the the A’s a run) and  for the rest of his outing as he had runners on base in every inning (including THREE walks) but, denied the A’s any more production.

} Yoervis is a bit unsung, no? Save for a little blip in Arlington (his second major league outing) he has picked up right where Stephen left off – outstanding out of the pen.
} Ollie (maybe another unsung?) merely struck out the side in the 9th

AT THE PLATE
~ Kendrys lights up the Moms et al at Safeco Field with a THREE-run homer in the 1st
~ Jesus completes the “get ’em on, get ’em over, get ’em in with an RBI single after Michael M doubled and Justin advanced him with a ground out to 2B

IN THE FIELD
* Nice play by Brendan and Jesus to nail a runner at the plate in the 2nd
* Brendan with a couple other really nice plays ~ his defense is a joy , his offense is downright painful
* DP by Kyle-Robert-Justin to end the 7th
* Michael M a bit of an issue in the 5th when he misplayed a ball by Cespedes but, no harm, no foul as he made the catch of the next fly ball for the final out of the inning
