I didn’t see/hear the game today, as I participated in Race for the Cure in celebration of a dear friend’s survivor status (and, we had a lovely brunch afterward). I must say, I’m not sad to have missed the game so, this will be short and not so sweet . . .
ON THE MOUND
} Jeremy Bonderman’s first major league start in 975 days did not go well
} Hector’s relief did not fair any better
} Danny did retire the side in order in the 9th (when it was already 10-0)
AT THE PLATE
~ M’s only manage FIVE hits, NONE for extra bases
~ Kendrys had TWO of the hits (he was also thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double)
~ Brendan fouled THREE pitches off his foot (ouch!)
IN THE FIELD
* Apparently, both Jason Bay and Alex Liddi had a nice diving catches
* no DP’s but, one turned against them
M*A*S*H and MOVEMENT
– Jeremy Bonderman was selected from AAA Tacoma
– Justin Smoak to the 15-day DL (retroactive to May 30th when he pinch hit in San Diego)
– Francisco Martinez (from the Fister trade) was traded back to the Tigers (for cash/PTBNL)
-Vinnie Catricala (2011 Minor League Player of the Year) was designated for assignment
– Franklin Gutierrez has about hit his rehab limit – will either have to rejoin big club or go back on DL
– Michael Morse expected to ease back into things this week . . . maybe taking some time at 1B
