g83 | Way to go, Joe and the BATS!

Mariners 9 | Rangers 2

Not able to see this one (unfortunately!) but heard bits and pieces, here and there.

Congrats to Joe ~ who recorded his first ever (regular season) win in Arlington, going . . .
6.2 innings ~ TEN hits ~ TWO runs ~ ONE earned run ~ ONE walk ~ FIVE strikeouts
(he left the game after he deflected a ball off his leg – didn’t see any report of injury, so hopefully just a bruise)

} Yoervis came in and struck out Beltre for what should have been the third out – unfortunately, it went as a passed ball and the runner at 3B came in to score and Beltre was safe at 1B. Next batter grounded out.

} Ollie and Tom combined for TWO scoreless (only ONE hit) innings

~ A rare game where EVERY M’s batter recorded at least ONE hit – THIRTEEN total, SIX for extra bases.
~ Raul picks up in July where he left off in June ~ he hit his TWENTIETH homer (as solo shot) in the 1st
~ Kendrys followed that up with his TENTH homer ~ for back-to-back jacks~ then hit his ELEVENTH (a 3-run bomb) in the 5th and tied his career RBI total (6) for a game with a 2-run single in the 6th
~ Nick and Kyle each had TWO hits and scored TWO runs
~ Mike had an RBI single
~ Kyle, Dustin and Justin all with doubles

Mike’s passed ball and Nick’s fifth error weren’t great BUT . . .
the FOUR dp’s (including a game-ender!) made up for those boo-boos AND Brad Miller started ALL FOUR!
