So, as you can see by my previous post, I have an EXCELLENT excuse for the be-lated game post 😉
ON THE MOUND
Joe a l m o s t posted a quality start and did get the win . . .
5.1 innings ~ NINE hits ~ THREE earned runs ~ THREE walks ~ SIX strikeouts
} Yoervis allowed an inherited run to score but retired the next batter to end the 6th and posted a scoreless 7th
} Danny and Ollie made a bit of a mess of the 8th ~ combining for FOUR hits, ONE walk and THREE earned runs
} Tom was able to shut the door on the 8th and, although he allowed a run of his own in the 9th, he saved his 20th game and preserved Joe’s NINTH victory
AT THE PLATE
~ Kyle extended his personal hit streak to FIFTEEN games and the club’s homer streak to TWENTY-THREE games
~ Mike Z got on base THREE times via ball FOUR ~ and scored EACH time
~ Dustin had a TWO-rbi double
~ Justin added a little insurance in the 9th, with his NINTH homer
~ Brad’s banner day included his first AND second major league homers and accounted for HALF the M’s runs
IN THE FIELD
As @shannondrayer would (and DID) say, “Brad Miller is good.” And, she wasn’t the only one who noticed . . .
tweets of the game . . .
