ON THE MOUND
Second straight UNking-like outing for Felix . . .
he allowed THREE walks in SIX innings after having walked only FOUR in his first THIRTY-FIVE innings this season. Consequently, he threw WAY too many pitches (107). That said, he still posted a quality start and did not allow an extra base hit. He really only struggled in that nightmarish 5th inning, when he allowed THREE straight singles and actually walked in a run (for the first time since 2008) . . .
SIX innings ~ FIVE hits ~ THREE earned runs ~ THREE walks ~ FOUR strikeouts
} Amazingly, the bright spot in the bullpen was Tom, who allowed a single but, struck out TWO and looked like “the Bartender” doing it
} Unfortunately, most of the rest of the ‘pen looked like their bartender had over-served them 😦 giving up THREE earned runs in TWO innings
AT THE PLATE
~ Great to see Michael make an impact in his first AB leading-off this season with a home run
~ Kyle seems to be heating up – another home run (his third in as many games)
~ Unfortunately, no other extra-base hits on the night and Mike’s sac-fly the only other RBI
~ Brad was ruled OUT on a VERY close call at 1B on a bunt single (Mac challenged but call was upheld)
~ OH fer FIVE w/RISP
IN THE FIELD
* Brad mad an awesome stop, spin and throw to Robbie at 2B for the third out in the 8th after a nice play earlier in the inning that got the lead runner (Beltre) but, a clean hard slide prevented Robbie from turning two.
* ANOTHER wild pitch where a run scored (seems to be an epedimic in this series!)
