ON THE MOUND
Kuma was much less dominant than we are used to but, pitched well enough to win . . .
He didn’t allow a walk and, despite a couple of long, loud outs, really only left a couple of breaking balls up – that unfortunately both ended up as TWO-run homers in back-to-back innings
SEVEN innings ~ NINE hits ~ FOUR earned runs ~ ZERO walks ~ SIX strikeouts

} Danny and Yourvis weren’t quite at their best but, each posted a scoreless frame

AT THE PLATE
Well, batters 1-4 going OH fer FIFTEEN sorta tells the sad story . . .
~ only FOUR hits total – ALL singles
~ James had his FOURTEEN game hit streak broken
~ Robbie’s THIRTY-ONE game on-base streak also came to an end

“I saw average stuff. We didn’t swing the bats very good,” he said. “At some point, you’ve got to stop giving credit to average pitchers. That becomes a broken record. At some point, we’ve got to start swinging the bats.” – Lloyd McClendon

IN THE FIELD
*The DEE definitely showed up today . . .
*They turned THREE double-plays and Mike turned in this gem, picking it from the dirt and catching a would-be base-steeler  . . .
