ON the MOUND
The Bear’s shortest/worst outing yet . . .
After the game, he said his neck was still stiff but, was not affecting his pitching – took responsibility for losses in his last TWO starts.
FOUR innings ~ EIGHT hits ~ FIVE earned runs ~ ONE walk ~ THREE strikeouts
The bullpen, however, was STELLAR!
} Tom took the long relief roll tonight – he entered the game with the bases-loaded and NO outs and got Ortiz to ground into a DP (which scored a run) and then struck out the next batter. In all, he posted THREE full innings, giving up only the ONE run to an inherited runner, TWO hits and striking out THREE
} Brandon, fresh up from AAA (Erasmo sent down), proved to be MUCH better in relief (which was the role he’d been serving in Tacoma) than he had been previously as a starter (touched upper NINETIES several times ~ including 99 TWICE) going TWO full innings, giving up only ONE hit and striking out FOUR
AT the PLATE
Not a TON of hits (EIGHT) but, a nice ratio of extra base hits . . .
~ Kyle, Mike and Brad ALL with homers (Mike’s w/LoMo aboard)
~ Rally attempt fails in the 9th – w/ONE out Kyle walked and LoMo walked but, then Mike struck out and Dustin grounded out
IN the FIELD
ONE DP for each side and an OF assist by Nava to nail Kyle at 2B
tweets of the game . . .
I (unfortunately) wasn’t there but, despite the loss it was a good game and a BEAUTIFUL night . . .
The old guys can still do it, way to go Chris
