ON the MOUND
Felix was SPECTACULAR!
Not only did he show, in spades, WHY his is King Felix (yes, the nickname came from “K’ing” because even as a young pup he struck out a LOT of batters) but, even when he was hurting tonight (leg issue) he fought to get that last inning (the 7th) and was able to convince Lloyd to send him back out there ~ an attitude that is more than “kingly”.
Oh, BTW, he struck out the side. A.MAZ.ING
SEVEN innings ~ TWO hits ~ ONE earned run ~ TWO walks ~ TWELVE strikeouts
} Danny (Lord Farquhar) and Nando (the Archer) were none too shabby themselves: each posted 1-2-3 innings in the 8th and 9th respectively, just as you would draw it up!
AT the PLATE
VERY encouraging night offensively . . .
Not only did they record ELEVEN hits but, FOUR of them for extra-bases AND all from guys who’ve been slow starters
~ Doubles from Robbie and Kyle
~ RBI triple from Brad (first triple of the season for Crazy Legs!)
~ Homer from Zu – boy, did he and the team need that!
~ Couple of stolen bases (Brad and LoMo) but, also a caught stealing (Kyle) and a pick-off (Brad)
Still need to do better w/RISP (only ONE for ELEVEN tonight) . . . baby steps.
