Not that this is all on Roenis, not by a LONG shot.
Once again, the hitters HAD THEIR CHANCES but,
a TWO-run homer on an 0-2 pitch with TWO outs in the 1st . . . hurts
ON the MOUND
The 1st, as already indicated, didn’t go so well for Roenis . . .
0-2 w/TWO outs and boom! stros lead 2-0
Then in the 2nd, he gave up a solo shot but, settled down and got both Altuve and Gatis to GDIP to end the 2nd and 3rd respectively. He walked one in the 4th but, ended up striking out the side and set them down in order in the 6th
SIX innings ~ SIX hits ~ THREE earned runs ~ THREE walks ~ EIGHT strikeouts
Bully – one good, one not-so good . . .
} Yoervis pitched a scoreless 7th
} Tyler gave up THREE hits in the 8th including a homer that would ultimately be the winning run
AT the PLATE
the frustration of chances not capitalized continues . . .
~ ONE fer FIVE w/RISP (including stranding LoMo in the 4th after a ONE-out triple)
~ AJ had a nice EIGHT pitch walk in the 3rd, stole 2B and then scored a run on Robbie’s double
~ Nellie and LoMo gave a spark in the 9th w/back-to-back jacks but, too little, too late
IN the FIELD
the DEE was much better . . .
THREE double-plays turned
