Spent a few days in Lake Tahoe, visiting my daughter for Super Bowl weekend.
What an absolutely beautiful place…
Oh, and though I was not at all enamored by the SB match-up, I managed to stay interested due to my parlay bets…
Now, back to baseball…
- RHP Brian Sweeney is back in the M’s org, signing a minor league deal
- Another old friend, Carlos Guillen, agrees to a minor league contract with an invite to camp
- M’s add some more pasta to the bullpen, signing both LHP Hong-Chih Kuo and RHP Shawn Camp to Major League deals (to make room, both Mike Wilson and Chris Gimenez are designated for assignment)

Rosy will be out of office for a week …
Taking an Alaskan cruise on the Golden Princess!
Departing from Pier 91 in Seattle today at 4pm and returning next Saturday morning.
The forecast doesn’t look too great …
mid-50’s and rainy in most of the ports – but we will make the best of it and “Escape Completely” (as the Princess ads say 😉
The cruise is a “combo-celebration of our 27th wedding anniversary and our son’s 16th birthday.

Glad I at least got to watch most of the game on TV last night, since I likely will miss all of the rest of the games this series….
Tomorrow afternoon I’m headed to Portland for the weekend where I’m attending a friend’s 50th birthday celebration that includes a winery tour via limo. No doubt there will be lots of good food, drink and fun … (but no baseball ;-(

Hate to abandon the blog so soon after getting started, but it will be ‘dark’ for a week or so as I’m off to Dallas for a business trip.
Now that the Jr news has died down a bit, I hope to write about other interesting news from Spring Training (like how’s the rotation shaping up, who’s going to win the closer job, the infinite number of DH, LF, C and 1B platoon combinations, etc.) when I return.
