ON the MOUND
Monty with  a l m o s t  another quality start . . .
He had a rough 2nd inning – but, if Brad had been able to turn TWO, Mike might not have given up any runs but, instead the flub opens the flood gates a bit – Giants score THREE off him in the 3rd and then he shut them down until the 8th when Tom gave up an inherited runner (which should, at least, be split, IMO) . . .
SEVEN.ONE innings ~ FOUR runs/earned runs ~ TWO walks ~ ONE strikeout

} the Bartender had some issues – wasn’t able to retire a batter and allowed TWO more runs
} Joe managed to get the TWO out needed but, not before he allowed a RUN
} Nuno with the only ‘clean sheet’

AT the PLATE
move along, nothing to see here except . . .
~ FIVE hits, ALL singles
~ Oh fer SIX w/RISP

IN the FIELD
* Monty had a 1B pickoff
* No double plays (w/TWO turned against them)

AT the PLATE
Only FOUR total hits off Bumgarner but . . .
~ ONE RBI double (Robbie) and ONE RBI triple (AJ) did the trick

IN the FIELD

* No double-plays turned (on either side)

ON the MOUND
Another awesome start for Tai! (great to see the walks decreasing and the K’s increasing)
He danced out of trouble in the first THREE innings . . .
– in the 1st, got out of runners at the corners with a strikeout
– in the 2nd, got out of runners at 2B and 3B with a strikeout
– in the 3rd, the first out came after Tai’s first wild pitch of the season sent the runner to 2B, a liner right back to him and he stuck his glove up behind his back enough to stop the ball, picked it up and had enough time to throw to 1B for the out

Then he retired the side in order in 4th and 5th and 7th
– in the 6th he got out of a TWO out double with a ground out
SEVEN innings ~ SEVEN hits ~ ONE earned run ~ ZERO walks ~ SIX strikeouts

} Mark and Charlie doin’ their thing with 1-2-3 innings in the 8th and 9th respectively

AT the PLATE
TWELVE total hits – only ONE for extra-bases – but it was a doozy . . .

because those singles were bunched together here and there, they were sufficient
(one thing’s for sure, that Crawford guy is really annoying – among others, he made ALL THREE outs of the 7th)but, I digress…
~ Crazy Legs scores from 2B on a line drive to right
~ LoMo with a steal in the 9th, scores the M’s fifth run when AJ ripped a liner into CF

IN the FIELD
* Tai’s fielding already mentioned
* Brad’s play to end the 3rd was pretty nifty . . .

* Nellie continues to be MUCH better than advertised in RF . . .
