Mariners 2 | Orioles 3

Out-hit by TWO . . .Â
Out-scored by ONE . . .Â
M’s now 22-20 in ONE-run affairs
ON the MOUND
Vidal did what he needed to do and, considering this is his second “spot start” out of the pen, I’d say we’ll take it!
He only allowed FIVE hits but, FOUR were for extra bases but, liking the NO walks and ONE K/inning 🙂
FIVE innings ~ FIVE hits ~ TWO runs/earned runs ~ ZERO walks ~ FIVE strikeouts
the rest of the story (pretty good pitching-wise) . . .
} Mayckol went a full THREE innings and built a picket fence (ONE hit, ONE run, ONE walk, ONE strikeout – the one run was a solo homer)
} Rasmussen redeemed himself a bit from his last outing, pitching a scoreless 9th
AT the PLATE
Only FIVE hits total but, THREE for extra bases . . .
~ Kyle and Guti both doubled
~ Guti homered (to tie it in the 2nd) and also scored BOTH runs
~ Nellie extended his hitting streak to 20 w/a single
things got a little exciting in the 9th . . .
~ Nelson got on base via an error but was erased when Robbie hit into a DP
~ Guti drilled a TWO-out double on the TENTH pitch of his at bat and advance to 3B on a wild pitch
~ AJ struck out but, it was a passed ball so, he was safe at 1B and Guti scored to bring the M’s within ONE
~ but, Jesus M struck out to end the game 😦
IN the FIELD
* a nice DP (Ketel to Robbie to Jesus)
* Nellie lunging, Jesus stretching . . .whodathunk?!?
tweets of the game . . .
and then, the real star of the night: the SUNSET . . .Â
